Tybee Island Vacation July 2012

The week of July 7th we loaded everyone up and headed south with the Hopperton and Frontz family.  All 12 1/2 of us plus two dogs!  It was a long trip but the kids did so well.  We watched a lot of movies and ate a lot of snacks but I thought they did really well for being trapped in the car for 14 hours.

They couldn’t wait to go to see the ocean…when we got unpacked and settled after we arrived we asked them if they wanted to go see the ocean they started screaming and jumping in circles with excitement…repeating “go to the ocean” and did not stop until we were walking out the door.  When we got there it was starting to get dark so we knew we were not going to stay long and didn’t bother putting on swim suits…mistake…this was how Carter returned to the condo.  The kid couldn’t resist!

They loved the ocean.  Carter’s favorite part was the water and the waves. He would stand in the water and just let the waves hit is face and knock him down and he would just laugh. Lila loved the water as well but preferred the shallow part.  She loved crawling like a crab through the sand and water. Madelyn was as happy as could be playing in the sand but did venture in the water a little.  Although when it came to the pool…Madelyn was the water dog, Lila was very timid and it took Carter awhile to warm up.

We ventured to Savannah two different days and ate at Paula Deen’s Restaurant which was delicious and we also stopped by a candy store.  This was interesting because all of the candy was at their level and they wanted it all.  We managed to all make it out alive,

We went to a Wildife Center one morning.  The kids loved it but it was a very hot day!

The girls started holding up their dresses so they would get wet.  Of course Carter thought he needed to hold up his shirt despite the fact that his shorts were soaked.  After we left the beach Lila managed to not get too wet but as we washed off our feet and she started washing her dress…so much for not getting wet but she would have a clean dress.

Carter loved chasing the birds up the beach but darn it he just couldn’t catch one.

30 weeks

Wow its so hard to believe I am already 30 weeks pregnant with only 10 weeks to go. Its even harder to believe that this time last pregnancy I was 2 days away from delivery.  Soon I will be in uncharted territory!  I already feel like this pregnancy has been so different.  So far no worries, no restrictions, no bedrest, no hospital, no wondering if I will deliver at any minute…if I knew pregnancy was this easy I would do it a hundred times more.  Well let’s just say that Brad would not accept that statement!!  It really has been such an enjoyable experience.

This will be the last triplet pregnancy picture as this was the last one taken of my belly before I delivered.  WOW I looked pretty rough last time and look at that belly compared to now.

Its also so much fun to watch the kids amazement with my growing belly. Madelyn is the funniest because she loves to see my belly, kiss it and try to see baby through my belly button.  Lila on the other hand could see less belly, she is always saying “mommy put your shirt down” or puts it down for me. Carter, well he could care less about the baby and I am curious to see if he still feels the same way once she is here.

She is still quite the little mover and at times feels like so is trying to push right out of my belly button. The other day she was poking her hand or arm or something out and it was so crazy to feel it there.  I swear I didn’t feel the triplets as much as I do her but I often wonder if it was because of all the swelling!

My doctors check up went great and I couldn’t be more having a more normal pregnancy so far!  I am measuring 31 weeks and she measured in the 50% during the last ultrasound which is perfect…not too big and not too small.  What a blessing!  I will be having another ultrasound at 33 weeks just to check again for IUGR but they really think everything will be fine.  I will take it!

We haven’t even started on the baby’s room yet!  We still have to move the desk out, paint, carpet, set up the furniture and of course stock it full of goodies!  I am stressing a little about that but I know it will get done. Let’s just hope sooner rather than later!!

Pretend Play

You really don’t realize how much kids hear good and bad until moments like these:

I heard Madelyn singing one morning and I listened in to try and figure out what she was singing. I heard "Where you go, I’ll go where you stay I’ll stay...I will follow you".  A Chris Tomlin song that she must have heard the other day in the van. Then everyone else started chiming in and singing along with her.

What a sweet moment it was for me to hear her pick up on something so positive and a nice reminder that I too need to watch my actions that little eyes and ears are listening all the time!

Last week we took them to the movies for the first time.  We went to the dollar movie and seen “The Lorax” and they did a great job.  They ate an entire bag of popcorn and watched the movie very intently…I was very proud of them.

Madelyn especially repeats everything you say and also wants to do everything you do.  Here is the perfect example.  I put my purse on the chair one day and and look who decided her purse needed to be on her chair.  This is where she sits at the table!  Too funny!

Playtime is really fun these days.  They love going to the basement and playing in the toy room.  The other day they came running up the stairs saying shew…we just missed the bear…the bear was chasing us and we just made it!  What imaginations at two years old.

Lately they really enjoy playing pretend and dress up.  Most of the day is spent pretending and its so cute to see what they come up with.

Dress up day..carter wanted to be mickey with of course his lovely shoes!

And then of course the girls wanted to be princesses!

Playing together is getting better…not as many fights and we are learning to share!

Carter loves his action figures!

We are also bookworms especially Carter. If you can’t find him he is most likely sitting quietly looking at books.  We also have a new infatuation with taking books to bed and nap, They ask “books in my bed ok lets go night night.”  Whatever works right!

IMG_7944IMG_7860

And this is what we do when we don’t want to go night night.  They pull a pillow off the couch and hide their heads underneath!
