Happy 19 month’s old

Happy 19 month’s old!!! 

We are getting way to close to big 2 and are starting to act it too.  I am not sure what happened to my sweet innocent children.  They are constantly testing my patience and always testing my authority.  I am just hoping that consistency will eventually pay off.  They are so busy exploring this big world to pay much attention to us.  

A few weeks ago we had our 18 months pictures taken by Alicia Eads Photography.  When I first moved to Northern Kentucky in 2003, I worked with Alicia’s husband and she ended up taken our engagement pictures at a studio and I remember how much I loved those pictures. She is now doing photography on her own and I was so excited to have her take our family photos.  I am in absolutely love with the pictures she took as they capture our personalities perfectly and are absolute perfection.  Everything and more than I ever imagined!

That evening I had loaded everyone up in the outfits I had dressed them in that morning afraid someone would get something on their picture clothes.  When we arrived at Devou Park we quickly started changing everyone.  Brad took Carter to the drivers seat where he had a can of Pepsi in the cup holder.  As soon as he got his white shirt on him Carter grabbed the Pepsi and it went all over his shirt.  Of course I was freaking out because that would just be my luck.  We just went with it and I soon forgot completely about it.  Amazingly it didn’t show up in any of the pictures!  It was a little crazy during the shoot, every kid going in their own direction with their own priorities in mind and I thought for sure we wouldn’t have one good picture all together but I couldn’t believe it when I saw how perfectly they all turned out!

First Vacation!

We took our first family vacation last weekend to Deer Creek Lake in Ohio. Our vacation was even more special because it was spent with the Olivigni’s and Hendren’s.

We stayed in fully equipped 2 bedroom cabins.  Each cabin could only hold 6 people so since we more than doubled in size a year and a half ago we had to stay in our own.

 

We had a nice screened in porch with a view of the lake.

They were so excited to be there and were running around all of the place exploring every inch of the cabin.

Before everyone else arrived on Friday we visited the beach area of the lake but unfortunately because of all the flooding it was very muddy and not in the best shape.  Madelyn is naked because on the ride from the cabin to the beach she got sick.  Poor thing doesn’t ride well in the car.

On Saturday, we visited the playground and they all were in heaven.  Well maybe even the parents…there are more parents on the play set than kids!

Carter loved the slide too!  He would climb up the stairs and go down the slide and start right back up the stairs over and over again.  He really enjoyed going down head first on his belly.  Little Daredevil!

Its pool time!  We didn’t realize at first that their was a kiddie pool so we tried out the big pool with our floaties and believe it or not Lila was the only one that would have anything to do with the float.  But then thank goodness we found the kiddie pool!! Carter and Madelyn were a little unsteady in the pool and I am wondering if some of that has to do with their low muscle tone.  The second time we ventured to the pool their were a few little girls that were in the pool too.  Carter was in heaven playing with them and he was giggling and laughing while they would grab his hands and dance around with him.  It was so cute!

This mini vacation was a nice test as to whether or not we would be able to handle a family vacation on our own for a longer period of time.  I am happy to say that the kids did amazing and were really great most of the time.  So beach here we come:0)
