Happy Birthday Mommy!!

Well this year’s birthday was much more of a celebration than last year.  In fact some days I forget just how old I am because its almost as if I skipped a birthday…I know I shouldn’t be so forgetful at 25..lol!!  One year ago today I laid in the hospital bed wondering if my babies would be okay and praying that they would hold out just one more day.  I feel so blessed when I think back to all of the answered prayers.  What a stressful time in our lives but we have so much to be thankful for now.

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

I had a very relaxing day because Brad was so sweet to take the day off so that I could have a vacation day!  The day started out with a recheck for Madelyn.  She is doing so much better and almost back to normal (nothing slows her down).  The doctor seems to think that this may have been allergy related and that in the future she may take all colds and allergies to her lungs so this could be an ongoing problem.  The worst case scenario would be asthma but we were told this may happen while we were in the NICU.  This is very easily treated by a nebulizer so it could be worse.  Only time will give us the answers to what maybe going on.  Thank you all for your prayers!  Afterwards, we headed to Newport on the Levee for lunch and the babies did SO well.  We ended the day relaxing at home and eating the yummy cake that Brad baked for me!!!

Happy 11 months old

Well it has been an eventful couple of days.  We ended up in Cincinnati Children’s Hospital last night because Madelyn was wheezing, taking short shallow breaths and had a fever. Being a preemie you never mess around with anything that involves the respiratory system.  The whole ride up there I was wondering if I had made the right decision or if I was just overreacting but my mommy intuition told me to go.  We checked in and was immediately taken care of and they diagnosed her with bronchiolitis.  She received three breathing treatments, some steroids and a chest x-ray and as long as all of that helped her breathing than we could go home if not we had to spend the night.  Thankfully, it helped and we were able to go home.  She was sent home with medication in an inhaler which we are to give her every 4 hours however it just doesn’t last long enough and she needs more medicine before the 4 hours is up because she can’t breathe.  So we are going to the peditirian tomorrow to check things out.  I am hoping and praying that the other two do not get this because I don’t think I can take this times 3.  I think the hardest part is the Madelyn is still so small and seems so fragile.  So please pray for her quick recovery.

But on a good note Happy 11 months old our sweet babies!!!  Its hard to believe in 4 short weeks I will have 3 One Year Olds!

Shopping

So yesterday we went birthday party decoration shopping and the babies were SO good.  I was so very proud of them.  We out and about shopping for about 3 hours and they had to get in and out of the car 3 times but they still did wonderful.  Everywhere we went Lila had to tell everyone “Hi” and I do mean everyone except she says HA and it comes out very short and chopped….its so cute!  Maddie was in the back of the wagon and we were standing in line checking out and I heard alot of commotion from some women standing behind me and I turn to see Maddie with her hand as high as she can, turned around waving at the ladies non-stop.  And Poor Carter was bored out of his mind, just like his daddy, he was lounged in the second seat of the wagon with his head tiled over trying to go to sleep.

Thank you to all of the stores who purposely put all of those goodies down at the children’s level and whose aisles are not wide enough but you see that is your mistake because you now have a mess to clean up after the Hoplets tore through your store…so sorry.  They now love to grab anything and everything that is within an arms reach….FUN FUN!!

The next weekend we were Off to our first Jackson County Apple Festival

My friend Nicole (who I have know just about all my life) and I were on the Apple Festival Queens court together years ago…man that doesn’t seem possible!!  So it was neat to have our kids participate in the contest. The babies got a meet her daughter Aubrey for the first time.  She is so adorable and was helping keep the babies occupied before the baby contest by feeding them yogurt bites.  But what she didn’t know was that it was helping keep her distracted too!!

All the winners…well at least mom and dad are looking at the camera

Off to the BIG parade after a very short nap.  I was a little worried because the parade didn’t start until 8pm and I didn’t know if we were going to last that long.  But they did great!

IMG_7095 IMG_7096 IMG_7097 IMG_7098

Madelyn loved the parade and she never took her eyes off of it.  She would jump up and down and wiggle…she just loved it!

IMG_7101

Carter was a little sleepy but he loved the fire trucks and everytime a band went by he would sing…it was so cute!

IMG_7103

Lila loved the lights and would occasionally get really excited and jump up and down.  Here she is smiling and jumping!

 IMG_7105

We are learning all sorts of new things.  Carter is clapping his hands and Lila has started waving with both hands.  However, ironcially she eems to have more control with her left hand than her right (looks like she might be her daddy’s lefty).  I am hoping to get it on video but everytime I get the camera out they are too interested in what it is and stop.  Then there is little miss camera hog and she gets excited at the chance to show off in front of the camera.  She dances everytime she hears music and when prompted by shaking her hips and nodding her head but I haven’t gotten on video yet.  Here she is waving.

And here she is playing peek a boo with daddy!

This weekend is our big multiples clothing and equipment sale.  It is in northern Cincinnati and I will be setting up on Friday night.  By the time I was to get home from the set up the babies would already be in bed and then I would have to leave way before they got up in the morning.  So I am choosing to stay the night with Kera, one of my multiples friends, and this will be my first official night away from the babies.  We will see how that goes:)
