The week of July 7th we loaded everyone up and headed south with the Hopperton and Frontz family. All 12 1/2 of us plus two dogs! It was a long trip but the kids did so well. We watched a lot of movies and ate a lot of snacks but I thought they did really well for being trapped in the car for 14 hours.
They couldn’t wait to go to see the ocean…when we got unpacked and settled after we arrived we asked them if they wanted to go see the ocean they started screaming and jumping in circles with excitement…repeating “go to the ocean” and did not stop until we were walking out the door. When we got there it was starting to get dark so we knew we were not going to stay long and didn’t bother putting on swim suits…mistake…this was how Carter returned to the condo. The kid couldn’t resist!
They loved the ocean. Carter’s favorite part was the water and the waves. He would stand in the water and just let the waves hit is face and knock him down and he would just laugh. Lila loved the water as well but preferred the shallow part. She loved crawling like a crab through the sand and water. Madelyn was as happy as could be playing in the sand but did venture in the water a little. Although when it came to the pool…Madelyn was the water dog, Lila was very timid and it took Carter awhile to warm up.
We ate at the crab shack and got to see alligators close up!
We went out to see the Tybee Island Light Station.
We ventured to Savannah two different days and ate at Paula Deen’s Restaurant which was delicious and we also stopped by a candy store. This was interesting because all of the candy was at their level and they wanted it all. We managed to all make it out alive,
We went to a Wildife Center one morning. The kids loved it but it was a very hot day!
Pictures at the beach
The girls started holding up their dresses so they would get wet. Of course Carter thought he needed to hold up his shirt despite the fact that his shorts were soaked. After we left the beach Lila managed to not get too wet but as we washed off our feet and she started washing her dress…so much for not getting wet but she would have a clean dress.
Carter loved chasing the birds up the beach but darn it he just couldn’t catch one.
We had such a great time and made a lot of great memories! Next time we will have one more in tow!
